A few months ago, it didn’t escape my attention that the logo of the new UK IPO was in a way similar to that of Science Direct. At that time, I wondered whether this was a form of adaptation of an artistic work?( note that for artistic copyright, common field of activity was not necessary for a finding of infringement).
No wonder it appears that ScienceDirect has since changed its logo. Who could blame them for doing so, if other people are all too willing to “adapt” [with zero recognition whatsoever] one’s earned IP.
