Weird but Necessary

It seems there was a team building exercise at work today where everyone was meant to give a brief commentary on a weird but wonderful invention. So when he returned home from work, he whose name is not to be uttered was still scratching his head on how he missed this device, also commented upon here, which one of his workmates flagged up.

Going by some of the claims on the prevalence of rape in certain countries, the figures are rather unsettling such that if quantitative comparisons were to be made with the UK population, the victim ratio would be something in the region 1 in 7, which is outrageous! and according to this article is the number of people who believe that “women should be hit for wearing sexy clothing in public …”

Although the Patent Application for this device appears to have been withdrawn, I wonder what measures the South African government have put in place to curb this monstrous practice? Also, since this device dates back to 2007, is there any data available that could indicate its effect since 2007?
